5 Most Asked Questions To Help Enjoy Living in Spain

10 Mar 2021

Not the most difficult BLOG for me to write today as we review the 5 most asked questions to help enjoy living in Spain...

Is it always sunny in Spain?

Probably the most obvious reason so many of our clients move to Spain is due to the weather...  Those long dark & cold winter nights can seem never ending.  Think of our Swedish and Norwegian clients (amongst others) who literally have just a few hours of daylight in those winter months.  Making the move to Spain with temperatures of 16 - 21 degrees even in February and with very few rainy days is so inviting.

The WHO (World Health Organisation) has declared the Costa Blanca as one of the healthiest places to live.

Many of our clients are looking for a new apartment with solarium and install a Scandinavian jacuzzi on the solarium to enjoy a glass of fizz on those warm evenings.

Where are some of the best beaches in Europe?

Spain!  Well, OK.. we maybe a little bias but I can personally speak for us lucky ones here in Guardamar del Segura as we have some of the best blue flag beaches in the Costa Blanca.  Think back to the many postcards you received from friends visiting Spain and picture the beach.

What is the most popular Spanish food?

Paella is often thought as the traditional Spanish cuisine but this can also take various forms across the country.  If you love to visit the Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol or Costa Brava (other Costa's are available) you will also find plenty of fresh seafood dishes.

OK, so the top 3 reasons may be obvious but let's not forgot another reason so many clients are looking for a property in Spain...  The 'weather' opens-up so many opportunities for people who love the OUTDOOR LIFESTYLE - the next two are becoming increasingly popular with many of our European clients.  In particular, our demand from Scandinavian clients from Sweden, from Norway, Finland and Denmark - their love for sports like Golf and the ever-growing popular Padel tennis is changing their priorities when looking to buy a property along the Costa Blanca.

Which are the best golf courses on the Costa Blanca?

Where do we start?

OK, well - selfishly speaking, we will concentrate on the Costa Blanca...  Starting in the North near Denia, and down towards Alicante, you will find numerous top-quality golf courses which vary from courses near the beach or those with mountain views like Alenda golf in Elche.

Further south, you will find the famous La Marquesa golf club Quesada, Vistabella golf, Las Ramblas and Villamartin golf club as well as La Finca golf resort and spa.... but, to be perfectly honest, we just cannot get enough of Las Colinas golf club & beach club located just a short drive from Dehesa de Campoamor.  Tour-like quality in design and set-up, the location is peaceful and the course challenging.. after a tough day on the course, you can relax in the nearby beach club - for an example of the luxury new villas for sale on Las Colinas golf, click here

What is Padel tennis?

In short - a combination of 'short tennis' played in a kind of Squash court.  OK, well, there's more to it than that but it's a great game, designed for doubles and anyone can play.  This is why it's becoming more & more popular with all clients across Europe - especially as courts are starting to open up in Belgium, UK, Sweden and The Netherlands.

Our clients are looking to combine a little 'action' into their typical day in Spain....

Start the day with a game of padel tennis or golf, enjoy a swim after lunch, soak up the sun on the beach and sip a cocktail on a warm Mediterranean night... what more are you looking for...?
